Anti Fashion Boot Camp is located in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Camp Washington. AFBC is conscious of the rapid economic development taking place in the city of Cincinnati and aims to advocate for effective and radical spaces in the communities being affected by gentrification.

Structure of AFBC

STUDENT-LED BOOTCAMP

AFBC will be running an 8 week summer program for 10 exceptional High School students from the Cincinnati community. These students will be asked to confront their preconceived notions of what a learning environment can be as well as questioning the role fashion and clothing plays in the development of their individuality. Each student will be taught sewing methods that will be applied to  developing the parameters of a individual collection of clothing which will culminate in a final fashion show at the end of the 8 week session.

PUBLIC EDUCATION SANCTUARY

AFBC  is dedicated to providing functional skills and knowledge for members of the community interested in the overall practice and study of fashion and design. Weekly workshops, lectures and events will be open, free of charge, to members of the community. There will be an Open Door policy for Cincinnati Public School educators who are seeking out methods and ideas for interdisciplinary and democratic education that can be applied in their classroom.
